Krombacher Celebrates Memorable Festival with Metal Fans at Wacken Open Air 2023, Setting New World Record

On Wednesday 9 August 2023, the Wacken Open Air (W:O:A) 2023 was a challenge for fans and organisers alike due to the historically bad weather which turned the Holy Ground in Wacken into a mud land. Krombacher, true to the legendary W:O:A motto “Rain or Shine”, nevertheless provided refreshment to the metalheads with more than 140 taps and activities around its Krombacher Stammtisch.

The highlight of these activities was a new world record of 110.3 decibels set by the visitors of the festival, as they growled with the Growling Creatures animal metal band presented by Krombacher and called for record-breaking voices for the protection of endangered native species. The record was officially confirmed by the Record Institute for Germany (RID) and Thomas Jensen, co-founder of the W:O:A, was awarded the record certificate on behalf of the participating festival visitors.

Krombacher also opened the daily programme in the infield with exclusive live performances, such as a DJ set from the popular metalcore band “Electric Callboy” on Thursday, a visit from Wacken legend “Mambo Kurt” on Friday, and a performance from the Dutch metal marching band “Blaas of Glory” on Saturday. At the end of the festival, Krombacher gave out chilled drinks for those leaving and the limited W:O:A edition of Krombacher Pils and non-alcoholic drinks for all drivers as a thank you for a truly unforgettable W:O:A 2023.

At this year’s Wacken Open Air, Krombacher provided metalheads with refreshment and memorable experiences, along with a successful attempt at setting a world record. The video of the world record can be found on the Krombacher website.
