Mark Allen has successfully completed the Estates Gazette deal.

The Mark Allen Group has announced that it has completed the acquisition of certain media assets of EG from LexisNexis Risk Solutions, a part of RELX Group. This acquisition marks a significant step for the 166-year-old title, as it reverts back to its original name, Estates Gazette, and joins the prestigious group of brands under the Mark Allen Group.

The first issue of Estates Gazette under Mark Allen will be published on Saturday, February 1, 2025. This relaunch will see the magazine take on a new look and introduce new ideas, under the editorial leadership of Tim Burke. The transformational journey for Estates Gazette will continue with a complete relaunch on April 5, 2025, which will include the launch of a new subscription website, www.estatesgazette.co.uk. This website will provide comprehensive news and legal coverage, as well as in-depth features and analysis of the UK commercial property market.

Executive Chairman Mark Allen expressed his excitement for the acquisition, stating, “Our aim is to return Estates Gazette to something approaching its former glory. It was unconscionable to believe that such a brilliant brand as Estates Gazette could ever die.” This sentiment was echoed by CEO Ben Allen, who added, “These are really exciting times for us and for Estates Gazette. This is a huge opportunity for Mark Allen. We are exactly the right company to take on this challenge as our successful experience in taking on legacy brands like Farmers Weekly, Optician and Community Care is second to none.”

Estates Gazette will now be published by MA Business, whose Managing Director Jon Benson will report directly to CEO Ben Allen. The team at Mark Allen Group is looking forward to the growth and success of Estates Gazette under their leadership.
