The annual conference of the international network for the legally compliant marketing of media content was held in Warsaw on Monday, June 2, 2025. The conference, organized by the Press Database and Licensing Network (PDLN), saw the election of a new President and Vice President to lead the organization.
Natascha Thomas, who has been serving as Vice President for the past two years, was elected as the new President of PDLN. She takes over from Javier Diaz da Olarte, from CEDRO, Centro Español de Derechos Reprográficos. The newly elected Vice President is Carlos Eugénio from Visapress in Portugal.
In her first statement as President, Thomas expressed her gratitude towards Diaz da Olarte for his dedicated work and outlined her plans for the future of PDLN. “It’s my firm intention to build on this and further promote our international cooperation,” she said. “I am sure we can make the most of the opportunities offered by AI by sharing experiences and learning from each other. The same also applies to the risks that the rapid technological development entails. The PDLN network with its established structures makes it possible to further advance our common goal of protecting the interests of content producers and preventing abuse on a global scale.”
Thomas brings a wealth of experience to her new role as President of PDLN. She has been Deputy Managing Director of PMG Presse-Monitor since 2020 and is responsible for sales, marketing and business development. With a degree in communication studies, Thomas has held positions as a digital consultant and research analyst before joining Axel Springer AG, where she was in charge of digital products. She has also served as a member of the executive board of AFP GmbH and its subsidiary SID Sport-Informations-Dienst GmbH, where she was responsible for marketing and sales.
PMG Presse-Monitor GmbH & Co. KG, one of the leading providers of digital media monitoring, press review creation and media analysis in the German-speaking world, also announced the launch of their newly developed PMG MediaHub at the conference. The MediaHub, which will be available in spring 2025, will offer over 900 publishers and content producers the opportunity to make their content available for legally compliant secondary utilization. Additionally, PMG also acquired the internationally successful data conversion specialist X-CAGO, allowing publishers to have their content digitally prepared and marketed for multiple distribution channels.
PMG has been providing the Press Portal for Schools (PfS) since 2023, which gives teachers access to German press coverage for lesson planning. Founded in 2001, PMG is a joint venture of German newspaper and magazine publishers with the shareholders Axel Springer, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Gruner + Jahr, Handelsblatt Media Group, Hubert Burda Media, Spiegel-Verlag, Süddeutsche Zeitung and the Bundesverband Digitalpublisher und Zeitungsverleger as well as the Medienverband der freien Presse.
Roger Dormeier, Marketing, Communications, and PR representative for PMG, stated, “PMG is excited to continue our partnership with PDLN and looks forward to working with Natascha Thomas as the new President. We are committed to protecting the interests of content producers and preventing abuse in the media evaluation market.” For any media inquiries, Dormeier can be reached at +49 30 28493 118 or via email at roger.dormeier@presse-monitor.de.
