IONITY Readies for Summer Travel Wave with Expansion of Fast-Charging Network and New Tariff Options
Munich, Germany – Summertime means travel time for many Europeans, and more and more are choosing to travel in electric vehicles. To accommodate this trend, IONITY, a joint venture of major car manufacturers, has been working to expand its fast-charging network and simplify its tariff options.
Since the start of the year, IONITY has opened over 50 new charging parks along popular travel routes in Europe, adding nearly 800 new fast-charging stations to its network. With a maximum charging power of 350 kilowatts, these stations can charge an electric vehicle’s battery from 20 to 80% in just 25-30 minutes.
To make the charging process even more convenient, IONITY has launched a new app that covers 23 countries and offers simple access to charging stations, as well as payment options. The app also includes a route planner feature, allowing travelers to plan their charging stops as relaxing breaks with outdoor experiences.
But perhaps the most exciting news from IONITY is the introduction of their new PASSPORT tariffs, designed to save customers money throughout Europe. The PASSPORT POWER tariff, which pays for itself after the first full charge, offers prices as low as EUR 0.26 per kilowatt hour in Norway, EUR 0.39/kWh in Germany, EUR 0.33/kWh in France, and GBP 0.43/kWh in the UK. Additionally, IONITY’s PASSPORT MOTION tariff offers even lower prices, starting at EUR 0.33/kWh in Norway, EUR 0.49/kWh in Germany, and EUR 0.39/kWh in France.
IONITY has also provided some tips for electric vehicle owners to optimize their charging experience during the warm summer months. These include keeping the battery temperature between 20 and 30 degrees Celsius, charging the battery from 20 to 80% for maximum efficiency, and maintaining proper tire pressure and using the air conditioning sparingly to conserve energy.
With these new developments, IONITY is setting new standards for e-mobility and making electric travel more convenient, reliable, and affordable than ever. For more information on IONITY and its fast-charging network, please visit www.ionity.eu.
