Sarah Mead, a respected celebrant known for her work with families across Swindon and Wiltshire, has announced the launch of a new digital initiative aimed at preserving family memories.
Her latest venture, My Cherished Memories, has been developed to help individuals and families record the voices and life stories of loved ones, creating a lasting legacy that can be shared across generations.
The project builds on a deeply personal influence from Sarah’s own family. Inspired by recordings made by her father in the 1980s, she recognised the lasting value of preserving stories and voices before they are lost.
“Every family has a storyteller, and in ours, it was my Great Aunt. My father recorded her, and those memories have stayed with me. I always planned to do the same with my father, but never did, and I regret that,” said Sarah.
My Cherished Memories offers families the option to record interviews and conversations in audio or video format, which are then compiled onto a specially prepared memory stick.
This allows children, grandchildren and future family members to listen back, reconnect and gain a deeper understanding of their family history.
“As a celebrant, I often hear families express regret over not having these moments saved. Now, I am excited to offer a way to ensure those memories are never lost,” Sarah added.
The service has already received positive recognition, with Sarah Mead winning the Best Story award for her new business at the latest Big Business Events gathering. An official website for My Cherished Memories is planned for launch in early 2026.
