OpenCloud 2.0.0 Now Provides Enterprise Services, Support and “File Native Backup”

OpenCloud Launches Commercial Offering for File Management Solution

OpenCloud, a leading open-source solution for file management, file sharing, and collaboration, has launched its commercial offering for its latest solution, OpenCloud 2.0.0. The release comes just one month after the successful launch of OpenCloud 1.0 in February 2025.

The new commercial offering includes various enterprise service packages, providing users with long-term software support, fast security updates, update rollout checks, high-availability solutions, and personal support. OpenCloud 2.0.0 can be run in in-house data centers or through selected partners.

One of the key features of the new release is the “File Native Backup” which makes it easy to back up large volumes of data and includes a powerful full-text search. Unlike database-supported solutions, OpenCloud only requires a simple backup of the file system via a snapshot or file copy for a full, consistent backup. This results in lower operating expenses, reduced risk of failure and process disruption, significant time savings, and easier data backup and restoration processes. It also provides higher reliability and scalability.

In addition to the new features, OpenCloud will also provide users with migration tools and comprehensive consulting and technical assistance by the OpenCloud support team in the second quarter of 2025. This will make migrating to the platform easy for organizations, even those still using older PHP-based solutions.

OpenCloud is one of the three pillars of the Heinlein Gruppe, along with OpenTalk and mailbox.org. The Heinlein Gruppe has been providing secure and digitally sovereign IT infrastructures throughout Europe for over 30 years.

“We are thrilled to launch our commercial offering for OpenCloud 2.0.0,” said Ivonne Heinlein, CEO of OpenCloud GmbH. “This new release, along with our comprehensive support and migration tools, will make managing and sharing files easier and more secure for organizations of all sizes.”
