Oxygen Films announces the upcoming release of their new film, “Nosebleed,” set to debut in 2026. The movie, directed by Gage Oxley, is described as a “psycho-sexual queer thriller that blends fantasy and reality.” It delves into the darker corners of the digital world and the human psyche, exploring themes of obsession, desire, and technology.
The film follows Victor, a troubled content moderator for social media platforms, who becomes drawn into a dark web subculture promoting sexually violent content. As his fascination with this world grows, Victor’s fantasies become increasingly blurred with reality.
“Nosebleed” takes inspiration from filmmakers such as David Fincher, Emerald Fennell, and the Cinema du Corps and New Extremity movements. Its aesthetic and tone offer a visceral cinematic experience that challenges power, control, intimacy, and taboo through a queer lens.
The film features Adam Wadsworth, known for his work in “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” and “Much Ado About Nothing,” as the magnetic anti-hero, Victor. He also contributed to the story, working closely with Oxley over several years. The cast also includes Elliot Bird and a stellar creative team, including cinematographer Matthew Bates and intimacy coordinator Eleanor Hodson.
Executive producer Jim Head and associate producer Jim Kierstead bring their expertise to the project, with a focus on supporting authentic and subversive LGBTQ+ narratives. Oxley, the writer and director, explains that “Nosebleed” was born out of an urgent need to explore how intimacy, masculinity, and identity are being reshaped by digital spaces. He worked closely with Wadsworth to bring Victor’s character to life, and the actor describes it as the most challenging and compelling role he has ever played.
“Nosebleed” promises to be a daring exploration of contemporary queer identity and digital dystopia, with haunting visuals, a subversive gaze, and unapologetic eroticism. It is not for the faint-hearted, but for those ready to confront what lies beneath the surface, the film will be a rewarding experience.
