Perpetuus Signs Indian Partnership to Boost Graphene Masterbatch Production for Tyre Manufacturing

Perpetuus Advanced Materials has entered into a joint venture with Asiatic Rubber Pvt. Ltd., marking a key milestone in scaling up its graphene-enhanced rubber technology across India and the broader Asian region. The move comes after the successful launch of Perpetuus’s eco-friendly graphene-infused natural rubber masterbatch.

Under the new venture, Asiatic’s production facility will be modernised to produce graphene natural rubber carbon black masterbatch, which is currently being evaluated by several major tyre producers in India.

Perpetuus is also progressing discussions with Kerala Rubber Ltd. to establish a cutting-edge, 80,000 sq. ft. production plant in Kottayam. Expected to begin operations in 2027, the site will supply large-scale volumes of graphene masterbatches for tyres and other elastomer-based applications, including industrial hoses, belts, and retreads.

The project supports India’s vision to strengthen its leadership in advanced materials and sustainable manufacturing, while positioning Kerala as a hub for global graphene innovation. It also reinforces Perpetuus’s commitment to delivering sustainable, cost-effective, and high-performance materials to the global market.

Perpetuus’s graphene masterbatch technology boosts tyre strength, energy efficiency, and wet grip while reducing harmful additives. The ready-to-use sheets can be integrated easily into current production systems, improving safety standards and reducing environmental impact.

“This strategic partnership demonstrates the commercial maturity of our technology.” said John Buckland, CEO of Perpetuus Advanced Materials. “We’ve moved from launch to regional production, and shortly to global scale-up with our Indian partners who share our vision for next generation, high performance, and sustainable materials.”

In parallel, Perpetuus is expanding its product development to include sustainable reinforcing materials such as recovered carbon black (rCB) and Tyre Derived Polymers (TDP), creating a new generation of graphene-enabled circular elastomers. The company is also developing graphene-enhanced synthetic rubber masterbatches to support global manufacturers seeking to reduce their environmental impact while elevating performance.
