European Institute of Innovation and Technology Celebrates Women Entrepreneurs Driving Innovation and Investment in Europe
Budapest, Hungary – On 19 November 2024, the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) will host the INNOVEIT Conference in celebration of women entrepreneurs driving innovation and investment in Europe. This event, organized and hosted by the EIT Community, will feature industry leaders and provide a platform for pioneering women-led ventures to showcase their groundbreaking solutions and contributions to Europe’s innovation ecosystem.
This conference, themed “Pioneering women: driving innovation and investment in Europe,” will take place in Budapest, Hungary, just one day before the global Slush event in Helsinki. It will offer valuable insights into the intersection of innovation, investment, and women entrepreneurship, making it a must-attend event for anyone interested in the future of tech and investment.
Industry experts and scaleups such as Inga Grieger (Business Development Manager, BMW i Ventures), Katarzyna Piasecki (Managing Director, European Women in VC), Bertrand van Leersum (Partner, Borski Fund), and Laura Wirsztel (Partner, BNP Paribas Solar Impulse Venture Fund) will share their insights into the role of women in the startup ecosystem. Additionally, successful women entrepreneurs like Avencia Sánchez-Mejía (Integra Therapeutics) and Olivia Nestius (Graphmatech) will share inspiring success stories.
The event will also feature a startup pitch session, where eight pioneering startups (Coat-It, DigiClean Solutions, Joii Care, Mimark, NOOVI, SpaceCrop, Walk 15) will have the opportunity to pitch their solutions to an audience of investors, industry experts, and media.
Attendees will also have access to the latest research findings from the study “Women founders in European deep tech startups” by the initiative EIT Supernovas, as well as the launch of the new Data Room, which enhances visibility for women-led startups and scaleups by connecting them with potential investors.
During Slush (20-21 November), attendees can learn more about the EIT Community and its initiatives, engage with representatives from programmes and initiatives such as the EIT AI Community and EIT Supernovas, and participate in a networking event with startups, investors, and partners from the EIT ecosystem.
The EIT Community is a collaborative network comprising the EIT’s long-term partnerships, known as Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs). These KICs are dedicated to driving systemic change in Europe and beyond, focusing on key areas such as climate change, energy, health, food, manufacturing, raw materials, digitalisation, urban mobility, culture, and creativity. The EIT also supports gender mainstreaming and tailored women entrepreneurship and leadership programmes in an effort to bridge gender gaps in the European innovation and entrepreneurship landscape.
