Polarise has expanded its AI Factory portfolio in Germany.

Munich, Germany – On Thursday, November 6, 2025, Polarise, a leading infrastructure partner, announced the construction of a new data center in Munich. This highly specialized facility, also known as an ‘AI Factory’, will be operated by Polarise and will serve as the backbone for Deutsche Telekom’s German ‘Industrial AI Cloud’.

Polarise has been entrusted with the responsibility of designing and constructing the specialized infrastructure for the AI servers, from the initial concept to the high-density power supply and AI-centric design. The company has a proven track record in providing sovereign AI infrastructures across Europe, with a recently built facility in Oslo and more planned or under construction in Bavaria, Hesse, and North Rhine-Westphalia.

According to Michel Boutouil, CEO of Polarise, “This will create one of Germany’s most powerful AI infrastructures right in the heart of Munich, years ahead of comparable projects in other parts of Germany.” He emphasizes the urgency of the project, stating, “We cannot wait for the EU Gigafactories. The race for AI will be decided today – in 2025 – not in two or three years’ time. We need to take action now.”

Polarise’s approach to the construction of the AI Factory is agile and resource-efficient. By reusing existing infrastructure and utilizing their ‘AI Pods’ – small data centers within a data center – the company can quickly implement the required computing power while saving time and resources. The resulting infrastructure is highly scalable and designed to meet the energy-intensive demands of AI. The waste heat generated by the servers will also be reused, with plans for a district heating concept similar to the one implemented at their Oslo facility, where waste heat is used to heat the nearby international airport.

The data center is expected to be built in record time, with the first high-performance AI chips set to be put into operation by Deutsche Telekom at the beginning of the new year. This will provide a secure, scalable, and energy-efficient infrastructure for the sovereign use of AI by German and European industries.
