Race the Light is shining a spotlight on a charity partnership.

The Chilterns Neuro Centre, a leading charity in the field of neurological care, has received a generous donation of £909 thanks to its partnership with Runaway Racing, a renowned running events organiser based in Wendover.

The successful collaboration between the two organizations saw a donation being made to the Chilterns Neuro Centre for every person who participated in the Chiltern Ridge Classic 50k, the Chiltern Ridge Half Marathon, and the North Chilterns 50k events in 2024. Many of the runners also chose to make additional donations, further contributing to the cause.

Thrilled by the success of their partnership, the Chilterns Neuro Centre and Runaway Racing have decided to continue their collaboration in 2025 and take it to the next level with the launch of a brand-new event – Race the Light. Set to take place on Friday 1 August in the beautiful surroundings of Wendover Woods, this special event offers a variety of options for participants of all levels, including a 10k or 5k trail run and a 1k accessible route. The event promises a unique experience as participants race against the backdrop of the setting sun in the picturesque woods.

“We are delighted to be working with Runaway Racing on this incredible partnership,” said Danielle Medd, Fundraising Manager at the Chilterns Neuro Centre. “The funds raised so far have already made a significant impact, and the launch of Race the Light will enable us to reach even more people in need. Whether you’re an experienced runner or a family looking for a fun challenge, every step you take will make a difference in supporting our work in the community.”

Chris Bradley, Event Director at Runaway Racing, also expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “With our headquarters just a short walk from the Chilterns Neuro Centre, it felt like a natural fit for us to join forces. We are proud to support the incredible work they do for the community. As runners, we often take for granted our ability to explore our surroundings. The Centre’s physical treatments, which help improve mobility and wellbeing, are a vital resource for those in need of support.”

Entries for Race the Light are now open, and interested participants can sign up or find more information on the Chilterns Neuro Centre website at chilternsneurocentre.org/racethelight.
