“Rai to Make Strong Comeback After 1-Year Closure, Reopening Set for February 7th, 2024”

London, UK – After a year of closure, renowned Executive Chef Padam Raj Rai and Director Shrabaneswor Rai are excited to announce the grand reopening of their popular restaurant, RAI. Located in a new spot in Bloomsbury, just a 4-minute walk from Tottenham Court Road Station, RAI will welcome guests on February 7th.

This dynamic duo has previously received critical acclaim for their work at Hot Stone in Islington’s Chapel Market and Kibako Restaurant in Fitzrovia, and they are now ready to take the London dining scene by storm with their newest venture.

With a seating capacity of only 10 people, RAI’s main floor features just 5 tables, offering an intimate and exclusive dining experience. In addition, the restaurant also boasts a separate sushi counter that can accommodate up to 8 guests. Here, patrons can indulge in a la carte sushi or opt for the omakase sushi set menus, starting at just £75, making RAI the most affordable Omakase in London.

Chef Padam brings over 22 years of experience from some of the city’s most renowned Japanese restaurants, including Nobu, Sake no Hana, and Tsukiji. His impeccable tasting menus showcase the evolution of Japanese cuisine and feature the highest quality, meticulously sourced ingredients.

RAI places a strong emphasis on seasonal and high-quality produce, providing a masterclass in fine dining with its exquisite flavor combinations. The menu showcases the best of Japanese cuisine, incorporating unique ingredients from the UK and around the world. Guests can expect to savor dishes such as homemade tofu and natto gyoza with traditional dashi broth, Ikijime seabass garnished with yuzu beurre blanc, and hand-dived Scottish scallops with yuzu, shisho pesto, and British caviar. The menu also includes a variety of sushi and sashimi using the freshest seafood, Koshihikari rice, Sanpuku nori, aged soy sauces, and freshly grated Japanese wasabi.

The serene and traditional Japanese garden interior of RAI will transport diners to a different world, enhancing the dining experience. For those craving a more classic and traditional menu, the restaurant also features a beautiful sushi counter where guests can enjoy the freshest sushi, sashimi, and traditional Japanese dishes made with love and skill by Chef Padam and his team.

Open 5 days a week, RAI’s tasting menu is priced at £130 per person, offering a unique and unforgettable experience. For those seeking a more casual meal or a taste of the best sushi in London without breaking the bank, the 8-seater sushi counter is the perfect option.
