JD Kirk’s ‘A Litter of Bones’ to be Turned into Dramatised Audiobook by Behear Ltd.
York, UK – The highly acclaimed ‘DCI Logan Crime Thrillers’ series of books, written by JD Kirk, is set to come to life in a new and exciting way. Behear Ltd, an independent York-based Dramatised Audiobook producer, is collaborating with the author to turn the first book in the series, ‘A Litter of Bones’, into a fully immersive experience.
Behear Ltd, run by award-winning author Colin Sinclair, specializes in creating audiobooks that are more than just a single voice reading the text. These dramatised audiobooks feature a different actor for each character, as well as soundscapes and audio sound effects, allowing listeners to fully immerse themselves in the story. As Colin likes to say, it’s “Netflix without the pics!”
The company was established in 2021, after Colin’s daughter Amy was in a car accident that left her legally blind. As an avid reader herself, Amy turned to audiobooks to fill her time, but found the single voice narration to be unengaging. This inspired Colin to create Behear and bring a new level of storytelling to the audiobook industry.
Since its establishment, Behear has seen a great deal of success, including a nomination at the Audio Production Awards in 2023. Their weekly radio drama is featured on York Mix radio, and they have worked with a variety of talented authors, including ‘Game of Thrones’ star Megan Parkinson.
