Roger Waters Releases Statement Regarding Controversy Surrounding Berlin Concert

Mr George Roger Waters, the renowned British musician, has spoken out against the “bad faith attacks” he has experienced following his performance in Berlin. He made a statement condemning fascism, injustice, and bigotry in all its forms and declaring his lifelong commitment to speaking out against authoritarianism and oppression.

The elements of his performance that have been questioned are a statement of opposition to fascism, a theme which has been present in his shows since Pink Floyd’s “The Wall” in 1980. His parents fought against the Nazis in World War II, something which has been an inspiration to him throughout his life, citing Anne Frank as a “permanent reminder of what happens when fascism is left unchecked”.

In spite of the attacks against him, Mr Waters has declared his continued commitment to condemning injustice and all those who perpetrate it.
