‘s debut single ‘Dura’ is the debut single of Ciarraí MacCormac, launched today.

A new exhibition, titled Dura, will be launched on Saturday, October 4, 2025 from 7-9pm at an art gallery in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The exhibition is a showcase of the latest works by artist Ciarraí MacCormac, known for her unique approach to painting and her exploration of the concept of ‘paint skins’.

MacCormac’s work revolves around a deep understanding and appreciation of the materiality of paint, with a specific focus on the elusive nature of ‘paint skins’. These skins, which are created through a process of reconfiguration and chance, challenge traditional perceptions of materiality and the function of painting.

The artist explains, “The paint skins have a shapeshifting quality, they are always in a transitory state and never quite caught. The operations of reconfiguration and chance are at the forefront of making.” This constant state of transformation and renewal is a recurring theme in MacCormac’s work, along with concepts of care and intervention.

Originally from Co Antrim, Northern Ireland, Ciarraí MacCormac currently resides and works in Belfast. She graduated from Bath School of Art and Design in 2014 with a degree in Fine Art and was the inaugural Freelands Studio Fellow for Belfast School of Art from 2023-2024. Throughout her career, MacCormac has received numerous awards and recognition for her work, including being shortlisted for the BEEP Painting Biennial, the AIR Open, and long-listed for the British Contemporary Painting Prize.

The Dura exhibition will be a unique opportunity for art enthusiasts and the general public to experience MacCormac’s thought-provoking and innovative works. For more information about the artist and her work, visit her website at ciarraimaccormac.com.
