The Katakala Community Foundation, a charitable organization dedicated to providing a brighter future for orphans and underprivileged children in Uganda, has launched a significant fundraising campaign to transform an orphanage into a thriving educational institution.
The foundation aims to instill hope in the young people of the region by offering free education programs, nurturing their talents in music, dance, and sports.
With the growing number of orphans and vulnerable children in the Mityana Municipality, the Katakala Community Foundation has set up a GOFUNDME campaign (https://gofund.me/eca29493) to raise funds for renovating the existing rooms of the orphanage and constructing a larger learning space and shelter to accommodate more orphans and underprivileged children in Africa.
According to a spokesperson from the foundation, the current building suffers from leaking roofs that flood the beds of the 125 children whenever it rains. Additionally, there is insufficient space to accommodate all 125 children, let alone more. Therefore, every penny donated will make a significant impact on the project.
