The 2024 Annual Report of the International Confederation of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul was presented in Brazil.

On Saturday, December 6th, 2025, the International Confederation of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul (SSVP) presented its Annual Report in Rio de Janeiro. This report highlighted the global impact of the organization’s social action in 155 countries, with a total of 18,000 projects and a global investment of 1,650,000,000 euros.

The event began with a speech by Marcio Da Silva, President of the National Council of Brazil, who welcomed those in attendance and introduced a video showcasing the organization’s work in the country. Wellington Dias, Minister for Development and Social Assistance, Family and the Fight against Hunger, also spoke at the event, emphasizing the importance of working together for a common cause and thanking the SSVP for their contributions in a world marked by inequality.

Juan Manuel Buergo Gómez, International President General, then presented the main content of the 2024 Report, highlighting the human value at the heart of the Society’s actions. He also announced the launch of the Global SSVP Foundation as a tool for raising funds for cooperation projects, development aid, and emergency actions.

During the event, a video was shown of the MAPFRE Foundation Social Awards, which recognized the SSVP as the best international social organization for its entire history.

Representatives from all continents then offered their view of the Society’s work in their territories, in line with the data provided in the report. The International President General highlighted the main indicators from 2024, including the commitment of 1,500,000 volunteers and 800,000 members, as well as the completion of 18,000 social projects and 5,000 special initiatives with a social investment of 1,650,000,000 euros, benefiting 30 million people.

The event also featured the presentation of a selection of initiatives mentioned in the report, showcasing the organization’s ability to adapt its actions to the realities of each territory. For example, the network of charity pharmacies in the United States provides access to medication for thousands of uninsured individuals, and the “13 Homes” Campaign, a joint effort with the Famvin Homeless Alliance, has already reached over 10,800 people and created over 2,700 homes in different countries.

The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul (SSVP) is a civil, international humanitarian and charity association founded in Paris in 1833. It currently has a presence in 155 countries, with 800,000 members and 1,500,000 volunteers, and its assistance reaches over 30 million people every day.

In the United Kingdom, the SSVP is involved in social projects focused on guidance, youth development through camps and volunteering programs, and community assistance through furniture shops and supervised housing. The organization is recognized as a special charity association of public benefit and has earned UNE-EN ISO 9001:2015 quality certification for all its locations. It is also a founding member of the Volunteering Platform of Spain and is registered with the NGO for Development Register (ONGD-AECID).
