London, 15 November 2024 – The highly anticipated ninth annual Build2Perform Live, hosted by the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE), took place on 13 – 14 November 2024 at London Excel. This year’s event, which attracted an impressive turnout, solidified its position as the premier gathering for professionals, thought leaders, and innovators in the building services industry.
With over 3,500 registrations, Build2Perform Live 2024 featured more than 70 hours of CPD-accredited content and 125 industry experts leading thought-provoking sessions. The event also showcased over 100 top-tier exhibitors, making it a must-attend event for industry professionals.
The carefully curated programme, developed by CIBSE Divisions, Special Interest Groups, and the Build2Perform Live Advisory Committee, provided exceptional value and insights to all attendees. The two-day event featured a wide range of sessions that highlighted CIBSE’s commitment to sustainability, innovation, and inclusivity in building services.
One of the event’s main focuses was on reducing carbon emissions in building projects. Attendees were able to participate in in-depth discussions on embodied carbon and the practical application of TM65, a methodology for reducing carbon emissions in building projects. The UK’s Net Zero Carbon Buildings Standard was also a hot topic, with stakeholders invited to provide feedback and shape its future. Additionally, sessions on domestic heat pumps and climate resilience offered valuable guidance on adopting technologies and strategies to combat climate change.
Day two of the event introduced the latest TM59 methodology, which aims to mitigate overheating in buildings. This was supported by CIBSE’s new Weather Files, as well as discussions on indoor health and wellbeing in building design. The Domestic Retrofit Towards Net Zero session highlighted progress in retrofitting for energy efficiency, while an Equity, Diversity & Inclusivity (EDI) session explored how promoting EDI can reshape the industry and promote a more inclusive built environment. These sessions demonstrated the industry’s commitment to creating resilient, low-carbon, and people-centred buildings.
Simon Parker, Managing Director of CIBSE Services, expressed his pride in the event’s success, stating, “This year at B2P, we’ve seen incredible energy and commitment to tackling some of our greatest challenges, from reducing carbon emissions and improving indoor health to ensuring inclusivity and resilience in the built environment. I’m immensely proud of CIBSE’s role in supporting these conversations and helping equip our community with the practical tools and insights needed to drive meaningful progress.”
One of the event’s biggest draws was the opportunity for attendees to network with key decision-makers, government officials, senior managers, facility managers, consultants, and property developers. This created an unmatched networking environment, allowing attendees to gain new perspectives, strengthen professional connections, and gain actionable insights to drive the industry forward.
CIBSE is proud to reflect on another successful Build2Perform Live, which embodies its mission to foster education, collaboration, and innovation within the building services field. As we look ahead, CIBSE remains committed to supporting industry professionals and promoting sustainable solutions worldwide.
