37th Annual Maschsee Festival Set to Begin in Hannover

Hannover, Germany – On July 31st, the city of Hannover will be hosting the 37th annual Maschsee Festival, the largest lakeside festival in Germany. The festival will run for 19 days, until August 18th, and will feature a variety of culinary and entertainment options for visitors to enjoy.

Spread out over an area of 20,000 square meters, the Maschsee Festival has earned a reputation as a gourmet’s paradise, offering a diverse range of international cuisine. Visitors can expect to find dishes from all over the world, from Oriental to Mexican, Asian to Scandinavian, and traditional German fare. The festival will also feature a range of dining options, from exclusive sit-down restaurants to finger foods on-the-go.

One of the highlights of this year’s festival is the new Food Village at Geibel, covering an area of 1400 square meters. Along with delicious food options, the village will also feature two of Hannover’s leading wine bars, Enrico Leone and Le Sommelier. Visitors can also look forward to live music, DJ sets, and boozy brunches on Wednesdays to Sundays. For a taste of California, the America Unlimited Sunset Beach will provide a relaxing atmosphere with palm trees, deckchairs, and chill-out vibes.

The KONE Pavilion, with its stunning blue exterior, will offer a perfect spot for visitors to unwind and take in the beautiful lake view. This venue will host international events and gatherings, serving a selection of cocktails and finger foods while guests watch the world go by.

A complete list of all the available eateries can be found on the festival’s website at www.maschseefest.de/gastronomie/.

In addition to the culinary delights, the festival also offers plenty of free events for families to join in. The children’s meadow on the west bank will host activities on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays (except on the opening day), including creative and sports activities and a bouncy castle for young acrobats.

The festival’s programme includes a variety of events and performances, including a concert by German rapper Malik Harris on August 2nd, a show by hip-hop band Passepartout on August 10th, and a performance by Scorpions’ guitarist Rudolf Schenker on August 18th.
