London, UK – The Anderson Foundation, a prominent philanthropic organization, recently held a Christmas Luncheon at the prestigious Rosewood Hotel in London. The event, organized in support of various charities across the UK, raised a remarkable £26,000 for New Life Special Care Babies.
New Life Special Care Babies is a charitable organization dedicated to providing specialized equipment for neonatal units throughout the UK. The charity’s aim is to give premature and special care babies access to state-of-the-art equipment for a stronger start in life. The equipment provided by New Life is not covered by NHS funding, making donations from generous individuals and organizations crucial to their cause.
Expressing his gratitude, Mr. Goodall, Founder and CEO of New Life, said, “The Anderson Foundation’s donation is truly exceptional. Such substantial contributions are rare, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to them. I want to acknowledge Mr. Steve Dopson, one of our Trustees, for facilitating this partnership and express appreciation to the entire team at The Anderson Foundation for making it possible.”
The generous donation from The Anderson Foundation will be used to purchase a neonatal ventilator for The Great Western Hospital in Swindon. This ventilator will provide constant pressure during non-invasive respiratory support, reducing permanent lung injury for premature, sick, and vulnerable babies. According to Dr. Sarah Bates, Consultant Paediatrician and Neonatologist, this will accelerate recovery, decrease overall bed days in the neonatal unit, and enhance long-term outcomes. Additionally, the ventilator will offer crucial support to sicker babies while awaiting transfer to a tertiary neonatal centre.
Mark Anderson, Chairman of The Anderson Foundation, commented, “We are delighted to hear that the donation from our recent charity auction to New Life Special Care Babies has gone to great use. It is heartening to know that our contribution has enabled the charity to purchase new equipment and continue their much-needed support to neo-natal units around the UK.”
New Life Special Care Babies was founded 26 years ago by Mr. Goodall following the premature birth and subsequent loss of his twin sons. The charity has grown from a one-time charity golf day into a continuous series of fundraising events.
