Bristol, UK – The highly anticipated Bristol Walk Fest is set to take place from 1-31 May, featuring hundreds of walks for all ages and abilities. With something happening every single day of the month, this annual event is a must-attend for all walking enthusiasts.

The festival will kick off on Thursday 1st May with an inspiring launch event at Arup, featuring local heroes who will champion the benefits of walking for mental health. Among the distinguished speakers are Taylor Moore, Bristol Rovers player and ambassador for 5k Your Way mental health support, Helen Cox, Bristol Rovers assistant coach and Rebound with Rovers mental-health group, Claire Allen, who walked 4,000 miles around GB raising £25k for homelessness charities, and Orla Hennessy, founder of Girls Who Walk Bristol, an organization tackling loneliness among young women.

In addition to the launch event, Bristol Walking Alliance, in collaboration with Bristol Ramblers, will lead a pre-launch interactive walk focusing on the healthiness of urban streets. The walk will take place from 6:00-6:45pm and will start and end at the launch venue. More information about the speakers and the pre-launch walk can be found at bristol-walk-fest-2025-launch-event.

With such a diverse range of options, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

According to Karen Lloyd, Bristol Walk Fest director, “Bristol Walk Fest is a great opportunity to discover something new about the city, explore a new area, or try walking for the first time. With a choice of free walks every single day of the month, you’re bound to find something to pique your interest!” Printed programmes are available now at libraries and community centers across Bristol, and new walks are continuously being added to the website.

To make it easier for participants to find walks that suit their needs and preferences, the walks are listed by categories and include a search option for difficulty level and access needs. This includes options such as easy, fairly easy, moderate, or challenging walks, as well as options for wheelchair accessibility, visually-impaired, buggy and family-friendly walks, rest stops, accessible by public transport, nearby toilets/accessible toilets, and dogs on leads welcome.

The complete online programme can be found at https://www.bristolwalkfest.com/events. Don’t miss your chance to be a part of this exciting and inclusive event celebrating the benefits of walking.
