The Children’s Family Trust (CFT), a leading charity-driven fostering agency, has launched a major incentive campaign in response to the critical shortage of foster carers in the UK. The campaign aims to encourage more people to step forward and provide loving homes for vulnerable children, offering up to £3,000 for new foster carers and £1,500 for existing CFT carers who successfully refer others.
Currently, there is a growing demand for foster placements, with thousands of children in the UK in need of safe and nurturing homes. However, there is a significant shortage of carers to meet this need. CFT’s new incentive programme is designed to address this urgent need by removing barriers, providing financial support, and ultimately finding more stable homes for children in care.
CEO Marina Mulholland emphasizes the life-changing impact that fostering can have, not only on the child but also on future generations. She says, “We know that taking the first step can feel overwhelming, but with the right support, it’s one of the most rewarding things you can do.” CFT’s campaign aims to not only offer financial reassurance but also to highlight the outstanding professional support that the organization provides to make fostering a positive and life-changing experience.
New foster carers joining CFT can expect to receive £750 upon approval, an additional £750 after their first placement, and up to £3,000 for experienced carers who transfer to CFT. In addition to financial incentives, foster carers with CFT also benefit from a range of support and resources, including an in-house psychotherapist, full mileage reimbursement, extensive local support, and regular pay reviews.
CFT stands out from many independent fostering agencies (IFAs) as a charity-driven organisation, with profits being reinvested into carers and children rather than shareholders. This commitment to reinvestment ensures ongoing training, support, and resources for fostering families.
Experienced foster carers who are considering transferring to CFT can do so with ease, as the organization simplifies the Form F assessment process and does not require prior training if recently completed. Additionally, any child currently in placement can transfer seamlessly to CFT.
