The CIBSE Building Performance Awards of 2025 celebrates exceptional accomplishments.

The CIBSE Building Performance Awards took place on Thursday, 27 February 2025 at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge in London. The annual event celebrated the achievements of individuals, organisations, products, and projects that have set new standards for sustainability, innovation, and performance in the built environment. The ceremony was hosted by comedian Marcus Brigstocke and featured a total of 30 diverse categories.

Among the many winners of the evening was Volkan Doda, Head of Design Technologies at Atelier Ten, who received the Engineer of the Year award. Doda’s expertise in building performance theory and application has made him a valuable leader in the field. He is also known for his commitment to fostering talent and delivering high-performance solutions.

Max Fordham, Architype, and BDP were awarded the titles of Building Performance Champion and Project of the Year – Retrofit Workplaces for their collaboration on The Entopia Building. The Entopia Building has achieved Passivhaus EnerPHit certification and is targeting multiple other sustainability accolades, with an impressive 84% reduction in whole-life carbon compared to standard retrofits.

The event also highlighted the talent and innovation within the industry, with highly commended entries including the Passive Cooling Double-skin Roof by Universidad de Sevilla in the Product or Innovation of the Year – Thermal Comfort category and the Aldar Energy Retrofit Project by grfn in Project of the Year – Portfolio Workplaces.
