The Coventry orchestra celebrates the 200th anniversary of the RNLI with a concert featuring a sea-themed program.

Coventry, UK – The Heart of England Co-operative Concert Orchestra is pleased to announce their upcoming charity concert in support of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution’s (RNLI) 200th anniversary. The concert will take place at St. Christopher’s Church on June 29th, 2024 at 3pm.

The orchestra, in its 106th year, has been entertaining the Coventry community since 1917 and is sponsored by the Heart of England Cooperative Society. This year, the orchestra has chosen to support the RNLI, an organization dedicated to saving lives at sea. As part of their commitment to charitable causes, all proceeds from the concert will go directly to the RNLI.

The concert will feature a selection of sea-themed pieces, showcasing the beauty and power of the ocean through music. The program includes popular pieces such as “Padstow Lifeboat” by Arnold, “British Sea Songs” by Wood, and “The Hebrides Overture (Fingal’s cave)” by Mendelssohn. The orchestra will also perform selections from the musicals South Pacific and HMS Pinafore.

Ticket prices for the concert are £10 for adults, £7.50 for concessions, and £1 for children under 16. Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance through TicketSource. The concert will take place at St. Christopher’s Church, located at CV5 9NJ in Coventry.

Last year, the orchestra raised nearly £2000 for various charities, including Coventry and Warwickshire Mind, UNICEF, and Global Care. The orchestra is also actively recruiting new players and encourages anyone interested to contact them at info@coventrycooporchestra.org.uk for more information.

Don’t miss this opportunity to support a wonderful cause and enjoy an afternoon of beautiful music. The Heart of England Co-operative Concert Orchestra looks forward to welcoming you to their charity concert on June 29th.
