The decarbonisation technology platform, Mobilityways, along with its partner, Prologis, have been recognized with six sustainable transport accolades.

Mobilityways, a leading sustainable transportation company, has been announced as a finalist for six prestigious awards for its innovative work in sustainability, transport, and data analytics. This recognition comes in light of Mobilityways’ groundbreaking collaboration with Prologis, a global leader in logistics real estate, which has been hailed as a best practice case study by the Department for Transport (DfT).

The National Sustainability Awards has shortlisted Mobilityways for the ‘Sustainable Transport Award’ in recognition of the company’s efforts to reduce emissions and develop carbon-free transportation methods. This achievement is a result of the successful partnership between Mobilityways and Prologis, which has effectively utilized data-driven insights and innovative solutions to reduce Scope 3 commuting emissions at Prologis UK sites.

In addition to this, Mobilityways has also been shortlisted for the Edie Net Zero Awards for the second consecutive year, following Managing Director Julie Furnell’s win of the Net Zero Hero award in 2023. This year, the company is nominated with Prologis for the ‘Transport and Mobility Project of the Year Award.’

This partnership has had a significant impact on the public transport and cycling safety of over 10,000 commuters at Prologis RFI DIRFT in Northamptonshire, resulting in improved accessibility and reduced carbon emissions. The collaboration was endorsed by the former Minister for Decarbonisation and showcased the potential of public-private partnerships in achieving sustainability goals. This effort also engaged 12 Prologis customers, demonstrating the power of collaboration between the public and private sectors.

Similarly, the Supply Chain Excellence Awards has also recognized the Prologis-Mobilityways initiative for the ‘Clean Transport Award,’ which celebrates outstanding achievements in sustainable supply chain management. The partnership has addressed transportation challenges at logistics facilities, reducing reliance on private vehicles through collaborations with smart bus provider Zeelo and Stagecoach services. These efforts have highlighted the effectiveness of public-private partnerships in achieving sustainability goals.

As a result of their partnership with Prologis, Mobilityways has also been shortlisted for The AI and Data Analytics Award and The Transport Planning Award at the CiTTi Awards, as well as making the Environmental and Sustainability Category shortlist at the Northamptonshire Logistics Awards.

Steven Haddock, Real Estate and Customer Experience Director at Prologis, expressed his excitement at the recognition of their hard work by multiple award bodies. He also emphasized the company’s commitment to customer service and sustainability, stating that the DIRFT site, their flagship location, has been acknowledged for its transport initiatives in improving access and promoting eco-friendly commuting options.

The Department for Transport has previously visited the Prologis-Mobilityways collaboration and championed it as a best practice case study, citing its innovative approach and significant outcomes. Some of the key achievements include a 4% reduction in single occupancy commuting and a 56% increase in employees using the Zeelo bus service. Moreover, one retailer reported a 500% increase in job applicants due to improved park accessibility, and car-sharing employees saved an average of £1034 in fuel costs in the last 12 months, during the cost-of-living crisis.

Following the success at Prologis RFI DIRFT, the initiative has been expanded to eight additional Prologis sites, with ambitions to roll it out nationwide. The project’s impact extends beyond environmental benefits, contributing to improved access to employment opportunities and reducing transport costs for commuters.
