The GXCA Summer School 2025 Offers Opportunities to Unlock New Skills and Knowledge.

The Gerrards Cross Community Association (GXCA) is pleased to announce the return of its highly anticipated Summer School, taking place from 28th July to 8th August 2025 at The Memorial Centre, East Common, Gerrards Cross. With 60 sessions over two weeks, the event promises an enriching opportunity for adults looking to enhance their personal skills and knowledge in a relaxed yet engaging setting.

Now in its 41st year, GXCA Summer School is thought to be the largest charity-run summer school in Buckinghamshire, hosting over 700 adult learners each year. Professor Marcia Bell, chair of the board of Trustees of GXCA, said, “Each year, we welcome hundreds of learners who are eager to master new skills and knowledge from our expert and engaging tutors. Our Summer School is designed for lifelong learners of all backgrounds, offering a variety of courses accessible to all levels.”

The Summer School caters to diverse interests and offers a wide range of one-day courses and workshops. From arts and crafts to digital literacy and history, there is something for everyone. With specialist lectures and a supportive learning environment, participants will have the chance to immerse themselves in subjects that foster growth, creativity, and self-confidence.

Highlights of the Summer School include:

– Crafts: Zentangle, linocut, botanical illustration, silk painting and crochet.
– Digital Skills: Enhance your technology know-how with practical sessions in digital photography, iPad use, & exploring AI.
– History: Discover Stories of Ireland, Archaeology of the Med and more.
– Special Interest: Bridge, Chiltern wildlife, & first aid.
