The Hertford-based establishment, Ginger Bar & Restaurant, has been awarded the prestigious Hertfordshire Restaurant of the Year ARTA 2024 Award.

On Wednesday, October 9th, 2024, the winners of the highly anticipated Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Awards (ARTA) 2024 were finally revealed. Ginger Bar & Restaurant was awarded the coveted title of “Hertfordshire Restaurant of the Year” at the prestigious ceremony held at the Royal Lancaster in London.

The ARTA is the most prestigious celebration of Pan Asian cuisine in the UK, recognizing and honoring Asian restaurants all over the country. The event welcomed a distinguished guest list that included renowned curry restaurateurs, Members of Parliament, dignitaries, and celebrities, who came together to celebrate the achievements of the Asian culinary industry. Among the notable attendees were Patsy Kensit (Actress & Singer), Julius Francis (Professional Boxer), Leila Russack (Singer & Songwriter), Jackie St Clair (Model), and Subrina Hussain (CEO of NTV Europe).

The ceremony was hosted by TV presenters Samantha Simmonds and Richard Jones (Magician) and featured world-class entertainment, including a performance by singers Muza and Rubayyat Jahan.

After a rigorous selection process based on customer nominations, aggregated review scores, food hygiene ratings, and assessment by a panel of judges, Ginger Bar & Restaurant emerged as the winner of the prestigious “Hertfordshire – Restaurant of the Year” award.

During the ceremony, ARTA founder Mohammed Munim expressed his congratulations to all the winners and finalists, stating, “As the original and premier awards ceremony dedicated to celebrating the best of the UK’s Asian restaurant and takeaway sector, we honor your unwavering commitment and passion, which continue to bring unparalleled flavors and experiences to diners across the nation, even in the face of adversity. Chief red carpet guest Patsy Kensit also spoke at the ceremony, expressing her delight in being a part of ARTA 2024. She said, “The talent and passion of the chefs are truly inspiring, and it’s an honor to celebrate such exceptional cuisine with this wonderful community.”

Cambridge Regional College & ARTA Ambassador Graham Taylor also shared his thoughts during the awards ceremony, saying, “Since its establishment, I’ve had the pleasure of tasting incredible dishes and working with talented chefs who continue to deliver exceptional cuisine. ARTA brings together a special and inclusive community, and I’m proud to be a part of it.”
