The award-winning artisan spirits producer, The Fynoderee Distillery, located on the beautiful Isle of Man, has recently launched its first cask-aged rum expression, Glashtyn Cask-Aged Rum, on Wednesday, May 22, 2024.
This unique rum has been carefully crafted using organic Colombian panela, fermented and distilled in their distillery in the north of the Isle of Man. The island, known for its deep Celtic heritage and surrounded by the warm climate of the Irish Sea, is an entire UNESCO Biosphere nation.
Co-founder of The Fynoderee Distillery, Paul Kerruish, expressed his excitement about the new release, stating that it perfectly aligns with their ethos of creating planet and people-friendly artisan spirits. He also highlighted the traceability of their raw ingredient, panela, which is sourced directly from a farmer in South America. This not only adds to the richness and complexity of the rum but also provides a unique backstory.
Kerruish added, “We couldn’t be happier with the flavor profiles that our unique island location, the premium ex-Heaven Hill Distillery casks, and high-quality natural ingredients have imparted to our aged rum. We look forward to releasing more unique and interesting bottlings, each featuring the intriguing tale of the “Glashtyn,” a mysterious Manx sea creature from Celtic mythology.”
In addition to the launch of Glashtyn Cask-Aged Rum, The Fynoderee team will also be announcing the release of a new exclusive rum to commemorate the Royal National Lifeboat Institution’s (RNLI) bicentenary. The limited-edition organic rum, called Refuge Manx Rum, will be the second spirit in the distillery’s Coastal Collection of Spirits range. This range serves as a fundraising partnership with the RNLI and aims to showcase the Manx origins of the charity.
