Prime Movr LLC, a renewable energy company, has announced a partnership with Nirvana Consultant KK of Tokyo, Japan to introduce their new compact laser power transmission system. This innovative technology allows for the wireless transfer of energy through the conversion of optical energy from laser beams into electrical energy.
According to Prime Movr, their system has a higher energy density and more focused targeting compared to traditional wired or inductive charging solutions. This makes it particularly suitable for powering remote, mobile, and hard-to-access electronic systems such as remote sensors, outdoor camera systems, and other autonomous systems.
In a statement, Takayasu Hara, founder of Nirvana Consultant KK, expressed enthusiasm for the potential of this technology in Japan. “There are many uses for which the Prime Movr system is applicable. The potential is great, and we are excited to be contributing from the start.”
The venture is an international effort, with research and development primarily done in India and Japan, and formed in the US. The founders of Prime Movr are also working on a similar wireless technology using radio frequency (RF) in collaboration with the University of Kashmir’s Institute of Technology.
