The National Extension College, an online distance learning provider, has announced its plans to hold a virtual open day in March.

National Extension College Hosts Second Virtual Open Day

The National Extension College (NEC) is pleased to announce it will be hosting its second Virtual Open Day on Thursday 13th March 2025 from 1.00-2.00pm. Following the success of its first-ever online open event in October 2024, this event is free and open to students of all ages, as well as parents of home-educated learners.

The Virtual Open Day will showcase NEC’s flexible online learning options and how they can help students achieve their education and career goals. It will also introduce NEC’s new Structured GCSE Programme, a one-year learning experience tailored to each student’s needs.

NEC’s dedicated tutor support, Well-being for Learning Programme, and Pastoral Care Service will also be highlighted, along with additional opportunities for learning such as Masterclasses and tutorials. Attendees will also learn about NEC’s support for students under 18 and those with additional needs.

The event will include a Q&A session and the chance to hear from current NEC students about their experiences. It is ideal for home-educated students seeking flexible GCSE or A level options, as well as those looking to improve their grades or take new subjects to meet university requirements.

NEC’s Virtual Open Day is also perfect for learners who need to fit their study around a sports or professional training schedule, or those who find school attendance difficult due to health issues, additional needs, or caring responsibilities. Adults considering a career change that requires additional qualifications can also benefit from attending.
