The National Science Foundation Celebrated a Double Victory at the 2023 Society of Food and Hospitality Technology Awards.

NSF, the global public health and safety organisation, has celebrated major wins at the Society of Food Hygiene and Technology (SOFHT) Awards, securing both “Best Auditor” for Senior Food Supply Chain Auditor Leon Ford and the “Rising Star” award for Food Service and Hospitality Audit Manager Dominika Sawicka-Harris.

The awards recognise excellence in the food industry and its associated industries, with an experienced panel of food industry professionals judging the entries. Leon’s commitment to upholding the highest standards in food safety and hygiene and Dominika’s outstanding contributions and promising future earned them the titles.

“We are immensely proud of Leon and Dominika for their well-deserved victories at the 2023 SOFTH Awards,” said Roger Mann, Managing Director EMEA Food Division at NSF. “Their achievements underscore NSF’s mission to protect human and planet health, setting a benchmark for excellence in the industry.”

Chris Turner, Chair of the SOFHT judging panel, praised Leon and Dominika’s efforts. “Auditing provides vital assurances of the highest operating standards within the food supply chain. The Best Auditor category highlights the auditor from any discipline who has demonstrated continued excellence in their field of operation,” he said. “And the Rising Star Award is for a person that has demonstrated commitment, enthusiasm and potential for the future. The judges were convinced to recognise Leon and Dominika as the winners in their respective categories.”

The SOFHT Awards celebrate NSF’s dedication to fostering talent, innovation and maintaining the highest standards in public health and safety.
