The newly launched Debt Free Advice app is set to tackle the taboo surrounding financial concerns during Talk Money Week.

Debt Free Advice Launches New App to Help UK Adults Tackle Debt and Improve Financial Wellbeing

London, UK – With over 8 million UK adults in need of debt advice, yet less than half seeking help, Debt Free Advice has launched a new mobile app to make starting the conversation about financial troubles easier and more private than ever.

The app, which is being released to coincide with Talk Money Week 2025, allows users to connect with free, impartial, and FCA-regulated debt advisors through live voice or video calls. This is available 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week, and sessions can be replayed at any time for ongoing support.

According to the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS), who runs Talk Money Week, the 2025 theme of “Start the Conversation” aims to encourage people to openly discuss their finances and reduce the stigma surrounding money issues. The Debt Free Advice App aligns perfectly with this theme, providing a platform for individuals to seek help confidentially and conveniently.

Matt Dronfield, Managing Director of Debt Free Advice, explains the inspiration behind the app:

“Talk Money Week is about stepping forward, starting a conversation, and realizing you don’t have to face financial worries alone. With our app, taking that first step is as simple as opening your phone. You can speak to a real advisor within seconds and revisit the session whenever you need. Sometimes hearing it again makes all the difference.”

The app also includes short guides and videos on common debt issues, making it a comprehensive tool for improving financial literacy and confidence. Its discreet design and user-friendly interface also provide a sense of privacy and accessibility for those seeking help.

Debt Free Advice, a coalition of charities led by Toynbee Hall, has supported over 500,000 people in the past 18 years, securing over £36.5 million in financial gains last year alone. The app builds on the success of their award-winning Video Advice Kiosk network, which won Best Service Delivery Innovation at the Third Sector Awards 2024.

The app is available for free download from both the App Store and Google Play Store.
