The organization known as The Children’s Family Trust commemorates 80 years of positively impacting the lives of young individuals.

Friday, June 13, 2025 – The Children’s Family Trust (The CFT), a leading fostering charity, is celebrating 80 years of changing lives across the UK. The charity, dedicated to supporting vulnerable children and young people, is hosting a series of celebration events across its five regions to mark this milestone.

These events, taking place between June 21st and September 13th, will bring together foster families, children, and team members for a day of joy, gratitude, and reflection. The CFT’s events will be held in East Midlands, West Midlands, West Yorkshire, North East, and South Central regions.

Marina Mulholland, CEO at The CFT, expressed her appreciation for the hard work and dedication of everyone involved with the charity. “This celebration is a tribute to every foster family, social worker, and supporter who has walked alongside us over the past 80 years,” she said. “We are proud of our legacy, but even more proud of the futures we continue to build together.”

Since its establishment in 1945, The CFT has provided support to thousands of children in care. The charity has a strong focus on matching children with families who reflect their cultural, religious, and emotional needs. Along with this, The CFT offers trauma-informed training, wraparound support, and advocacy to ensure foster carers are empowered to provide the best possible home environment.

One of The CFT’s foster carers, Helen, has been with the charity for 13 years and shared her experience. “When the children reflect the work that you’ve done – then it’s just so rewarding, and it makes you feel so glad that you decided to become a foster carer. The CFT is supportive, professional, and compassionate, and they go above and beyond to support us carers and the children.”

While the anniversary events are private and family-centered, The CFT hopes to use this milestone to raise awareness about the impact fostering can have. The charity also wants to highlight the vital need for more foster carers across the UK.
