The British Motor Yacht Show, now in its tenth year, is set to open at Premier Marinas’ Swanwick Marina in Hampshire on Thursday 15 May. This year’s show promises to be its most successful yet, with new model debuts, international growth, and a strong luxury yacht market.
The show, which caters specifically to serious buyers, is an invitation-only event focused on transactions, brokerage, and immediate acquisitions. Over 80 motor yachts, sports cruisers, day boats, and RIBs will be presented by more than 45 British and international brands against the stunning backdrop of England’s South Coast.
The show’s founding partners include Premier Marinas Swanwick, Princess Yachts, and Sunseeker International. This year, Sunseeker will be unveiling two new models, the Predator 55 and the Manhattan 68. Other notable UK debuts include the Pearl 63, designed by British duo Bill Dixon and Kelly Hoppen, and new entries from Saxdor, Bellini, Axopar, Bavaria, and Fjord. The Rib-X International Phaeton will also make its world debut at the show.
In addition to showcasing luxury yachts, the show also champions British craftsmanship with smaller, bespoke brands like Cockwells and Rustler Yachts presenting hand-built vessels. This reflects a growing demand for UK-manufactured luxury goods.
International participation at the show is on the rise, with new entrants for 2025 including Fleming Yachts and Van den Hoven Jachtbouw. These additions further cement the show’s growing profile beyond the UK.
Andrew Lewis, Sales and Marketing Director at Premier Marinas, explains the show’s focus on transactions: “The British Motor Yacht Show remains a transactional event, offering discreet brokerage services and private buying appointments. This focused model is resonating with affluent buyers seeking lifestyle assets – and in a climate where second home purchases in the UK are facing significant additional taxation, investment in luxury motor yachts remains free of stamp duty or second property surcharges.”
The leisure marine sector in Britain is valued at over £1.4 billion annually and the motor yacht segment continues to outperform wider economic trends. This is due to strong export growth, the resilience of high net worth individuals, and ongoing innovation in sustainable design.
The British Motor Yacht Show is not only a showcase of luxury, but also an indicator of the strength and agility of Britain’s high-end manufacturing, craftsmanship, and international competitiveness in a global marketplace.
