Fizyr and Yaskawa Europe have announced a new automated hygienic handling solution for the food and life sciences industries. This partnership brings together the best-of-breed expertise in system components and design from Van Wees Waalwijk and Alpha Robotica.
The hygienic handling solution combines Yaskawa’s new HD-series robots, Fizyr’s PANOPTICTM vision AI, a binpick food cell from Van Wees Waalwijk, and programming support from Alpha Robotica. This solution is the result of an expanded partnership between Fizyr and Yaskawa, which includes a non-exclusive go-to-market strategy for Europe.
According to Ken Fleming, CEO of Fizyr, “Hygienic applications such as food picking and laboratory automation have very high standards for cleanliness and accuracy. Yaskawa’s new HD series of robots exceed those standards, achieving an IP69K rating, to ensure cleanliness and consumer safety.” He also added that each partner’s expertise in their respective areas allows for the creation of a truly unparalleled solution.
The first installation of this solution is for a salad production company, where two HD7 robots place pieces of raw peppers and bags of salad dressing in bowls of lettuce. Fizyr PANOPTICTM accurately determines the position of the objects and the correct placement position. The machine is designed for mobility and can be easily wheeled to the correct place on the production line. It is also equipped with a turntable and can accommodate four crates of ingredients, allowing the line to continue running during a crate change.
