On Wednesday, February 7th, 2024, the Heart of England Co-operative Concert Orchestra will be returning to Coventry with an enchanting musical experience for families. The orchestra, sponsored by the Heart Of England Cooperative Society, has been bringing music to the city since 1917 and is now in its 106th year.
Their upcoming concert, taking place at Bethel Church in Spon End at 3pm on March 16th, will feature Prokofiev’s timeless tale of Peter and the Wolf, narrated by actor and presenter Iain Lauchlan. The program will also include other beloved pieces such as Toy Symphony, Cinderella, The Typewriter, Theme from E.T, and Danse Macabre.
In addition to providing a delightful afternoon of music, the concert will also be raising funds for two charities, the Coventry Resource Centre for the Blind and Ninety Nine to One. Last year, the orchestra raised over £1860 for various charities including Coventry and Warwickshire Mind, UNICEF, and Global Care.
Ticket prices for the concert are £10 for adults, £7.50 for concessions, and only £1 for children under 16.
