Glaisyers Solicitors Partners with Francis House Children’s Hospice to Encourage Will Writing and Charitable Giving
Manchester-based Glaisyers Solicitors has announced a partnership with Francis House Children’s Hospice to promote the importance of making or updating a Will while supporting the vital work of the hospice.
In this year-long collaboration, Glaisyers will be offering its expertise to draw up Wills free of charge, in exchange for a suggested donation of £100 for individuals or £175 for couples or partners to Francis House. This is a significant reduction from their standard fees for these services.
Founded in the early 1990s, Francis House is one of the first children’s hospices in the UK and has been providing innovative care for children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions and their families. The hospice’s commitment to supporting the entire family has earned it a reputation as a pioneer in children’s hospice care.
Chris Burrows, Head of Private Client Services at Glaisyers, expressed his support for the campaign, saying: “Partnering with Francis House allows us to make a meaningful difference to families facing incredibly difficult circumstances. By offering our expertise, we hope to encourage more people to consider making or updating their Will while also helping to secure the future of such an essential charity. A legacy gift, no matter the size, can have a lasting impact, and we are proud to play a part in that.”
With demand for its services on the rise, Francis House relies on the generosity of the local community to support over 600 families at any given time. Gifts in Wills are a crucial source of income for the hospice, and the partnership aims to highlight the lasting impact of leaving a gift in a Will.
Susie Poppitt, Legacy Fundraiser at Francis House, explained: “Gifts in Wills are critical to the success of hospices like Francis House, as they help us meet our fundraising targets year after year. With recent data showing that only 27% of the general public have considered leaving a gift to charity in their Will, we want to raise awareness and encourage more people to consider supporting Francis House in this way. By partnering with Glaisyers, we hope to offer individuals a professional Will writing service while also supporting our hospice.”
