The AI Physio Study, their latest endeavour, seeks to address the needs of patients waiting for orthopaedic operations within the NHS. The NIHR i4i innovate connect fast Grant will provide the necessary funding for DocHQ to evaluate the health and economic impact of their AI tool. It will determine patient feedback, assess the tool’s acceptability and understand how it can best serve those in need.
Musculoskeletal conditions affect over 20 million individuals in the UK, and low adherence rates, limited physio availability, and lengthy waiting times hinder optimal care. DocHQ Physio’s AI tool remotely tracks patients’ progress, adjusts treatment plans when needed, and minimises the need for follow-up appointments and secondary interventions.

The AI Physio Research Project will encompass qualitative and quantitative studies, including observational research, impact assessments, and health economics evaluations.
