Imago Venues, a leading venue brand in the East Midlands, has announced plans to refurbish its flagship property, Burleigh Court, with an investment of £4.5 million. This transformation is part of the company’s commitment to delivering a fantastic experience for its guests and is made possible by its strong financial performance with double-digit like-for-like growth.
Partnering with renowned design firm Harrison, Imago Venues aims to create a space where people love to be. Dean Concannon, Design Director at Harrison, explains, “The aim of our design at Burleigh Court was to create synergy across the entire venue, whilst ensuring each space has its own identity. Being positioned with access to the talent, facilities, students, and alumni at Loughborough University, there was an abundance of resources at our disposal, making the design much more personal.”
The refurbished venue will have increased capacity for meetings and conferences, as well as a new 140-cover restaurant called ‘Fifty The Street’ serving a 50% plant-based menu. The current restaurant will be converted into a flexible conference and gala space with 225 cabaret capacity, with the option to divide into four smaller soundproofed conference spaces. Delegates will also have the opportunity to enjoy lunch from the new bar and lounge areas.
In addition to these updates, the refurbishment plans include the addition of new spaces, such as the ‘Thingamajig Room’ named after a ground-breaking engineering measurement tool on display, and a new Business Lounge, Sung, and Welcome Lounge. Work on the refurbishment is set to begin in late February and will be completed in three phases, with a full relaunch planned for September 2024. During this time, the venue will operate at a reduced capacity, but will still be open for enquiries.
