Hope Spring, a clean water advocacy charity, has handed over its latest borehole project to the community it partnered with, to provide safe, clean water to over sixty people. The Hereford-based charity announced the handing over ceremony on its social media page on Friday 2 June.
The project, a thirty metre deep borehole with multiple standpipes, was funded and delivered in a partnership between Hameedah Poverty Relief, Ozami greetings and Hope Spring water. The immediate beneficiaries of the water project are estimated to be sixty, with neighbouring communities potentially expanding the project’s reach to hundreds more.
Temi Odurinde, Hope Spring trustee, said: “We are absolutely delighted to complete and handover the Sumonu community borehole in Agege to the beneficiaries. This is one of our outstanding projects, which was postponed several times during the pandemic of 2020. We are grateful for the patience of the community members and our partners.”
The project went over budget by 40%, but was completed due to additional funding from Hope Spring eCards, an online birthday greetings card platform. The charity has completed more than six projects this year, and aims to complete another half a dozen by the end of the year.
Hope Spring’s successful completion of their latest project has been celebrated online, with additional information and pictures of projects available on their website and social media pages.
