The EUTOP Group announces a change in management.

EUTOP Group Appoints Stefan Mappus as New Managing Director

Munich, Germany – On Monday 22 April, 2024, the EUTOP Group announced the appointment of Stefan Mappus as its new Managing Director. Mappus will join long-standing Managing Director Christian Schaufler in leading the Group and will be responsible for the client business as a member of the management board.

With a wealth of experience in politics, administration, and business, Mappus brings a unique set of skills to benefit EUTOP’s clients. He holds a degree in economics and social sciences from the University of Hohenheim and has previously worked as a research assistant. After being elected to the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg in 1996, Mappus left his career in sales at Siemens AG to pursue politics full-time. He went on to serve as State Secretary, Minister, CDU parliamentary group leader, State Chairman of the CDU Baden-Württemberg, and ultimately as Minister President of the State of Baden-Württemberg until 2011. After leaving active politics, Mappus joined pmOne AG as an advisor to the Management Board in 2012 and later served as a member of the Management Board and Group CFO from 2015 to 2023.

The appointment of Mappus is seen as a strategic move by Prof Dr Klemens Joos, founder, shareholder, and Chairman of the Advisory Board of the EUTOP Group. In his statement, Joos said, “With the appointment of the former Minister President of Baden-Württemberg, the EUTOP Group is significantly strengthening its ability to continue to support its clients with excellence in the field of process-oriented political representation of interests.”

The EUTOP Group, founded in 1990 and now with over 150 employees and structural advisors, has been providing support to interest groups of private companies, associations, and organizations at the institutions of the European Union and selected EU member states as a structural process partner. In addition to the client’s content competence, EUTOP also offers process structure competence, perspective change competence, and process support competence, which are essential for successful representation of interests.
