The Peasmarsh Chamber Music Festival celebrated its 25th anniversary.

The internationally renowned Peasmarsh Chamber Music Festival is returning for its 25th anniversary this summer. From 22-25 June, audiences can enjoy a magical long weekend of concerts by world-class artists, performed in beautiful historic churches.

The festival will feature an impressive roster of award-winning artists including the Valo Quartet, Aleksandar Madžar, Stefan Cassomenos, Samuel West, Britten Sinfonia, Simone van der Giessen and the Kleio Quartet.

The programme will include masterpieces from the chamber music repertoire, both new and old, with a particular focus on French composers.

Sir David Hare remarked: “Peasmarsh, in late June, is a magical festival.”

Artistic Directors Anthony Marwood and Richard Lester have curated the festival, which includes nine concerts over four days.

A significant community-based education programme will also be running in conjunction with the festival, with workshops taking place in five schools across the area. 150 pupils from Rye, Peasmarsh, Beckley, Icklesham and Winchelsea will be invited to perform their compositions in St Mary’s Rye on 23 June.
