The updated Compassionate Shopping Guide makes it easier for consumers to shop cruelty-free.

Naturewatch Foundation Launches New Compassionate Shopping Guide on World Day for Animals in Laboratories

Today marks World Day for Animals in Laboratories, and to commemorate the occasion, animal welfare charity Naturewatch Foundation has unveiled its new-look Compassionate Shopping Guide. The guide boasts over 200 cruelty-free personal care, cosmetic, and household brands that have no ties to animal testing. What sets the Compassionate Shopping Guide apart is its thorough vetting process, which ensures that not only the endorsed brands but also their parent and sister companies are free from animal testing.

This gives ethical shoppers the peace of mind that their purchases are not supporting animal testing in any way. In addition to being cruelty-free, many of the endorsed brands also offer vegan, organic, or eco-friendly options. The Compassionate Shopping Guide truly has something for everyone.

Donna Smith, editor of the guide, stated, “The Compassionate Shopping Guide is a must for anyone who wants to live their values and support truly cruelty-free companies. From well-known favorites to unique handmade finds, it caters to all shoppers.”

One of the endorsed brands, cleaning company Bio-D, shared their support for the guide, saying, “At Bio-D, all of our cleaning products are 100% vegan and cruelty-free. We are proud to be endorsed by Naturewatch Foundation’s Compassionate Shopping Guide. The guide is a true reflection of businesses with no ties to animal testing and creates a community for like-minded brands and shoppers.”

While the UK has banned animal testing for cosmetics and their ingredients since 1998, a ban on testing finished household products was only introduced in 2015. However, ingredients used exclusively in cosmetics cannot be tested on animals at all in the UK. Unfortunately, ingredients used in other everyday products can still be tested on animals for regulatory purposes.

The Compassionate Shopping Guide can be found online at compassionateshoppingguide.org. With the support of ethical shoppers, Naturewatch Foundation hopes to encourage more businesses to become cruelty-free and create a world where no animals are harmed for the sake of consumer products.
