The Deutschlandmuseum in Berlin has been awarded the prestigious THEA Award for Outstanding Achievement, informally known as the ‘Oscar of the entertainment sector’. This recognition marks the first time a German museum has been honoured with the award, which is widely considered one of the highest honours bestowed in the entertainment industry.
The museum was opened in June 2023 and is renowned for its unique approach of immersing visitors in the history of Germany. The Deutschlandmuseum team worked closely with Chris Lange, former chief designer of Europa-Park, to create a journey through the Middle Ages and modern times. Places and events from German history have been recreated to evoke the senses and provide an unforgettable experience.
The THEA Award will be presented to the Deutschlandmuseum at a ceremony in Hollywood in March 2024. Previous recipients of the award include Universal Studios, Disneyland and the Shanghai Astronomy Museum.

Our goal was to create a museum that makes the complex history of Germany accessible to everyone.
